Thoughts: Not gonna lie last week was really hard for me. The death of Tyre Nichols was weighing heavy on me. I was down bad, son. As the weekend came my soul started to feel better. This past weekend I had the opportunity to speak to the students of our Black Student Union with my fraternity brother about Dr. King’s legacy. It is conversation like these that give me hope and give me purpose. Something that stood out to me that my bro said was “Your job is not the goal, My PhD was not the goal. This is the goal. My PhD enables me to have these conversations”. Hearing this from my bro reminded me that the journey is more important than the destination. And the light is not just at the end of the tunnel but we can always be walking in the light. Peace!
