TCU: N-word please (don’t)

Sunday, at a Texas Christian University ‘s football practice head coach Gary Patterson when trying to instruct his African American players to watch their use of the n-word (Problematic already) he said the following ” you’ve been saying n—as in the meeting room”. The origins of the story begins with player Dylan Jordan he explains in an iPhone notes document that he posted to twitter saying:

Several players took to twitter both in support of their coach and others chose to hold him accountable for his words. One player in support of Patterson tweeted:

On the flip side another player said:

The Coach did apologize Monday night for his comments via twitter:

The comments by Patterson are damaging and problematic. And his comments once again reveal the lack of cultural competency that exist in college athletics and the need for more minority head coaches.
